New Releases Weekend Oct 26-28

New this week are four completely different releases.  There’s definitely something to see if you’re in the mood to hit the cinemaplex, and you can listen to Ep 64 for more details on these releases.  First up:

Cloud Atlas – This has turned into a decidedly split reaction, love-it-or-hate-it movie, so expect Sci-Fi fans to adore it and people looking to escape to not.  Tom Hanks, Halle Berry and a multitude of other actors play different roles over the span of 500 years that intersect and intertwine throughout the film.  It’s a film about love, faith and fate.  And I’m already confused.  Look, by all accounts, there is no description that nails this flick so see it and judge for yourself.  Even with 59% positive results, this is the HO pick of the week.

Fun Size – Victoria Justice gets her first leading role in this Adventures in Babysitting mixed with The Hangover at Halloween flick about a teen who loses her brother en route to the party of the year and has to spend Halloween finding him.  Could be cute, reviews aren’t.  Wait for DVD.

Silent Hill: Revelation 3D – Heather and her dad have been on the run forever.  Plagued by nightmares and the disappearance of her dad, Heather finds herself on her 18th birthday being sucked into a demonic world trying to trap her forever.  IN 3D!  No reviews available and that means the studio has no faith in it.  Still, if you’re a fan of the game and looking for something new on Hallow’s Eve, check it out.

Chasing Mavericks – Gerard Butler stars as an old pro enlisted by a young buck wannabe surfer to train him in order to tackle the mythic Mavericks break in California.  Reviews again aren’t that great and IT’S OCTOBER!  Who watches surfing movies in October?!  Well, Butler is good so think about it.

That’s it, for our review of Paranormal Activity 4 and looks at each of next weekends releases, listen to Ep 65 – Paranormal HO’s, just out!
