New Releases – Weekend Aug 24-26

Want to know what the new releases are this weekend?  Well here you go:

Premium Rush: Joseph Gordon-Levitt darts around town as a bike messenger trying to get a package delivered and also the hell away from villain Michael Shannon.  Currently at 70% positive reviews.  Very impressive for this kind of thriller.

The Apparition: Ashley Green & Sebastian Stan star as a couple discover they are being haunted by a spirit that was brought upon them during a University experiment.  The Apparition feeds off their fear, so they can’t just leave the house in this one.  The film wasn’t screened for critics, but reviews so far have ALL been negative.

Hit & Run:  We reviewed this on the show last week, essentially this is Smokey & the Bandit for 2012.  Dax Shepard stars as Charlie, a guy in witness protection, trying to get his girlfriend (Kristen Bell) to a job interview on time.  Doing so creates exposure and the criminal he put behind bars (a hilarious Bradley Cooper) is on the road to get him.  Also in tow, Charlie’s Federal Agent played by Tom Arnold.  It’s more fun than it sounds, check it out.  So far reviews are at 47% positive…curiously most Top critics have given it positive marks.

If you haven’t yet heard our review for The Expendables 2 or just want to hear the NEW Ep 56 of the HO, take a listen, or click the link for the Flash version:

As for the HO’s?  Scott, Justin & Brian picked Apparition as their pick of the week.  Aaron picked Hit & Run.
