As discussed on last week’s show, here are the new releases for March 29th:
G.I. Joe Retaliation: The Rock, Channing Tatum and even Bruce Willis team up to thwart yet another attempt by Cobra to take over the world. The film promises that no IQ is needed as they jet from action sequence to action sequence. Plus, they have ninja’s on a mountain side. Currently at 30% positive on the review scale but let’s face it – This isn’t a film for critics. Just people who like to see shit blow up good. The HO Pick of the Week.
Temptation – Tyler Perry directs this modern take on Fatal Attraction with an African-American cast and a switch of roles as the woman is now the adultress and the husband the victim as the wife carries on an illicit affair that goes bad. No Madea here. The film was not screened for critics. Ruh Roh.
The Host – Twilight’s Stephanie Meyer’s latest book adaptation as aliens are taking over the human race’s bodies…and Stephanie wants to save those she loves. Anybody else fall asleep reading that? The film is at 10% positive reviews…that means it sucks.
The Place Beyond The Pines – A criminal (Ryan Gosling) and a cop (Bradley Cooper) are on a collision course of violence as they both try to escape their respective traps. Directed by Derek Cianfrance of Blue Valentine, the film is currently at 73% positive reviews and is easily the best reviewed film of the weekend. And no one will see it.
