Every day, Jack feels taunted and teased from a distance by Emily. One night, after his stalking obsession pushes him to the next level, Jack elects to break into Emily’s home, and do with her what he pleases. What he doesn’t count on, is for Emily to be lying in wait for his attack. When Jack awakens gagged and tied to a chair, he quickly realizes there is much more to this woman than he possibly could have imagined.
StalkHer is much more than a typical Hollywood thriller. This Aussie indie is a dark and seedy take on the ageless war of the sexes that rages on even in our very politically correct day and age. As John Jarratt’s Jack and Kaarin Fairfax’s Emily become acquainted, the harsh truths in both of their lives slowly reveal themselves, and we are treated to two characters far deeper than the StalkHer’s vague description could convey.
John Jarratt has had an eclectic career, devouring roles in every genre and seemingly on every continent. Recent success as the ‘Anti-Dundee’ – Mick Taylor in the Wolf Creek series – has afforded John increased exposure and opportunities, culminating in his directorial debut with StalkHer.
Take a listen as John stops by The Hollywood Outsider for an exclusive interview on his latest film. Throughout our discussion we broach topics stemming from his artistic beginnings, to why he chose StalkHer as both a project and his directorial debut, misunderstanding characters, his relationship with Mel Gibson, working with Tarantino, and the future of Wolf Creek. Prepare for a candid interview with a wonderfully down-to-earth talent, John Jarratt.
StalkHer is now available on Blu-ray, DVD, and VOD.
