It seems like things keep going darker these days, and even Disney animated films like Zootopia are tackling harsh topics like diversity. Meanwhile Star Wars, Marvel and DC pump out numerous films that the entire family goes to where there is constant wanton destruction.
That brings us to our topic – What defines a family film in 2016?
When you take the kids, mom, grandma, whomever – What does family film even mean in the modern day? Is it relegated to films of yesterday like Old Yeller, or is it anything the entire family can enjoy, regardless of topic or rating?
