The Mother of Exiles Analysis
Welcome to Beyond Westworld, and boy do we have many Doloreses? Doloresi? for you…
Our story begins with William aka The Man In Black questioning the nature of his reality as Charlotte (further known as Char-lores) comes to William to warn him of the impending takeover of Delos. He is haunted by the memory of his dead daughter that he killed and it is driving him insane. Char-lores uses this to her advantage to have William committed, his status on the board removed and his voting power transferred to the acting chair which in this case is Char-Lores! Now committed the Man in Black becomes the Man in White and truly has no idea what is real and what is not, including himself.
Why do we say Char-lores? Well see at the end of Season2, Haleores escaped the island with 5 Host Pearls in a bag. Haleores made Char-Lores, who then re-made Dolores, who then made Bernard/Arnold, Musashi, and Martin Liam’s security head. But what we learn this week is that Dolores, Char-lores, Martin, and Musashi are not themselves. Wait for it. They are all DOLORES!!! Pearl Blown! Turns out when you want to take over the human race, the only person you can trust is yourself. Sadly Maeve, Stubbs, and Bernard all find out this horrific truth in the most non-opportune time.
Be sure to answer our park satisfaction questionnaire this week down in the comments. What outward character will house the 5th pearl? Will Maeve survive her battle with Musa-lores? Will Bernard and Stubbs escape from Marti-lores? Are you Dolores? Am I Me? Tune in next week for another vacation Beyond Westworld!

About HBO’s Westworld
In 1973, celebrated author and filmmaker Michael Crichton released Westworld, his visionary idea of what a theme park could be as human-looking androids fulfilled our every desire. Four decades later, creators Jonathan and Lisa Joy Nolan are taking the concept to the next evolutionary step as Westworld can now be ‘fleshed’ out as a deeper concept that explores the vast array of potential and consequence from such advanced technology. The one-hour drama series is a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the evolution of sin. Set at the intersection of the near future and the reimagined past, it explores a world in which every human appetite can live without limits, no matter how noble or depraved, can be indulged.
The cast of the series includes Evan Rachel Wood, Ed Harris, Anthony Hopkins, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, James Marsden, Tessa Thompson, and more.
