2021 Golden Globes
On this special episode, Aaron discusses the winners of the 2021 Golden Globes, which were announced on Sunday, February 28, 2021 on NBC. The Golden Globes are prestigious accolades given to honorees for their excellence in television and film, both domestic and internationally, on behalf of the members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
The awards show began at 20th Century Fox in 1944, which awarded Jennifer Jones for The Song of Bernadette as Best Actress, and Paul Lukas for Watch on the Rhine as Best Actor. As time progressed, the Golden Globe Awards moved from scrolls as the awards presentation to the shiny globe which represents the diversity in film-making throughout the world that many of us recognize today.
The winners include Jane Fonda, who was presented with the distinguished Cecil B. deMille Award for decades of phenomenally compelling work in front and behind the camera, and her “lasting impact on the film industry”, and Norman Lear, who was awarded the Carol Burnette Award for his “outstanding contributions to television on or off the screen.”
